BG1ESO SECCIÓN 13-17 abril

Hello there,

I hope you and your family are well. Every new day is one day less!!!

As you already know, living things are classified into five kingdoms:

During March we have focused on Vertebrates in the Animal Kindom. More specifically, we have worked on Mammals (Iberian wolf and iberian lynx).

This week we will move on to another group, BIRDS, through our friend Félix Rodriguez de la Fuente. You can discover plenty of things about birds in this fantastic website

I suggest you and your family relax while watching it.

Afterwards, answer the following questions:

1. According to Felix at the beginning of the video, how could a squirrel travel from the Pirinees to Gibraltar in Roman times? Why is this not possible nowadays?

2. Name five bird species (IN ENGLISH) shown in the video.

3. Why is this chapter called "Prisioners of the forest"?

4. Which is the busard's favourite prey?

5. How does the hunting scene of the golden eagle and the iberian goat end? How does the goat avoid being caught?

6. Create a new entry in your Nature Journal using this template for ONE of these birds:
     - GOLDEN EAGLE (Águila real)
     - CAPERCAILLIE (Urogallo)
     - MOUSE BUSARD (Busardo ratonero9

7. Send a picture to martamaja21@hotmail.es until April 20th, included.
